Did you know...

That the NRS project offers free, self-paced online courses? Topics include NRS requirements and improving NRS data quality and use.  Since January 2004, when the NRS began developing these courses for adult education program administrators, we’ve had 3,009 new users complete at least one course.  On average, about 35 new users per month complete a course!

The Online Course Catalog summarizes NRSWeb course offerings. Not sure which course is right for you?  The self-evaluation form can point you in the right direction.

NRS Staff Use Moodle to Deliver Courses Online

In addition to self-paced courses, the NRS team also offers facilitated online couress using Moodle, an open-source online learning platform that allows educators to organize and run classes online.  Unlike other online NRS courses that are completed independently, the Moodle courses are facilitated by NRS project staff and take 6-7 weeks to complete. Previous Moodle course offerings include NRS Basics and the blended learning Adult Education leadership Institute.

Coming Soon! Conducting Research Using NRS Data: An Evaluation Learning Community

The NRS project is developing an Evaluation Learning Community (ELC) for states that are interested in pursuing research using NRS and other data. The ELC will facilitate the development of joint or complementary research studies among states; provide ongoing technical assistance in the implementation and analyses of those studies; and assist in the dissemination of the final reports. This will be an exciting opportunity to make significant contributions to the research in adult education. Further information and applications will be shared with state directors by June 2011.
