Federal Data Reports

NRS data provides valuable information on the adult education program. Several reports analyze data on program performance, characteristics of the adult education population, and related topics.

NRS Report to Congress
The annual Congressional Report provides Congress and the public with an overview of the adult education program, including data on student enrollment and demographics and a summary of student outcomes over time.

NRS Fast Facts
Using state-submitted data, the NRS takes a closer look at areas of interest and how data compare across states and examines national trends. Data have been analyzed around the following topics:

• Characteristics of English Literacy Participants in Adult Education: 2000-2005
• Ages of Adult Education Participants
• Characteristics of the Least-Literate Participants in Adult Basic Education Beginning Literacy Programs: 2001-2005

State-by-State Summaries
The NRS provides tables and graphs that summarize state-by-state statistics and trends. The data sheets are in the appendix of the Congressional Report and are updated annually with the submission of each state's performance report.
