Data Tools for Monitoring and Program Improvement:

Web-based data is reviewed upon entry. Periodic reviews are conducted at the state level by state staff. Each program submits a monthly report/desk audit for review. Follow-up contact is made after monthly audits, and as necessary when state staff identifies areas of concern or reason to validate existing practice. Several validations have been built into the data management system that Montana uses (LACES). The state has created a scheduled monitoring calendar and desktop manual to guide local programs. To encourage and promote continuous improvement, programs are expected to complete annual goal setting with data analysis and narrative reflection.
